Bridgewater
Volunteer Rescue
Squad, Inc.
offers
a variety of flexible membership opportunities to our volunteers.
Volunteers have the option of serving as either Emergency
Responders or Non-Emergency Responders.
The rescue squad provides all necessary training for our
volunteers. Those who
choose to serve as Emergency Responders may receive training at the EMT-Basic,
EMT-Enhanced or EMT-Intermediate levels.
We also provide training in CPR, Emergency Vehicle Operations,
and Heavy Duty Rescue. Non-Emergency
Responders bring their own skills and experience to provide valuable
administrative support for the operation of a vital volunteer
organization. These
opportunities are further outlined in the application (see left column). New
volunteers complete a six-month training period.
During this time they are required to pull station duty one night
each week from 7:00pm to 10:00pm (a total of 12 hours each month for the
first six months). This
requirement pertains to all applicants, regardless of membership class.
The 10 and 20-hour time commitments for Associate and Senior
Emergency Responders, respectively, will become effective following the
volunteer’s transition from trainee to permanent membership. Completing
the enclosed application is the first step in beginning a rewarding
volunteer experience! You
may either mail the completed packet or bring it directly to the
station. If you have any
questions, please feel free to email us or
call us at
828-3395.
